Extending it to other solid tumors requires new targets, ligands that bind them selectively, and the manufacturing and supply chain needed to deliver a radioactive drug to a patient on schedule. Where We Come From
The people who lead Aurelius have, between them, taken radiopharmaceuticals from first synthesis through lead optimization, GMP manufacturing, regulatory submission, and commercial supply, on programs that are now in the clinic or on the market. That experience covers each stage a radioligand has to pass, and the company was built so that no stage is being done for the first time.
Each stage a radioligand has to pass has been passed before by someone on this team.
Leadership
Experience in licensing and partnering radiopharmaceutical programs, including the transfer of a clinical-stage program to a global pharmaceutical company.
Radiochemist. Previously at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Evergreen Theragnostics, and Lantheus.
Radiochemist. Process, analytical, and regulatory development of radiopharmaceuticals from the first clinical batch to Module 3. Previously at Alpha-9 Oncology, Lantheus, the University of Virginia, and the National Institutes of Health.
Peptide chemist. Previously at Biosynth.
Radiochemist. Developed radiotracers at Heidelberg University Hospital that went from first synthesis to first-in-human imaging and on to global clinical programs. Previously at Evergreen Theragnostics and Lantheus.
Formulation and process scientist. Previously R&D manager for interventional oncology devices at Terumo Europe, and a senior scientist at UMC Utrecht and TU Delft, after doctoral research at CNRS in Strasbourg.
Previously financial controller at Pacmed and senior accountant at OLX Group, after finance roles at Colgate-Palmolive and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Board of Directors
Founding chief executive of ARTBIO, an alpha radioligand therapy company, from 2022 to 2026. Previously Head of Europe, Cell and Gene Therapy at Novartis Oncology, and in senior strategy and commercial roles at Sandoz, after co-founding Nano Terra and consulting at McKinsey & Company. Doctoral research at Harvard University.
Nijmegen
Aurelius is based on the Radboud campus in Nijmegen.
The Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Radboudumc has developed and manufactured radiotracers for clinical use for several decades, and has radiochemistry, preclinical imaging, and clinical nuclear medicine within one institution. The company works with the department from preclinical evaluation through to clinical studies.
